Are you or do you know of a STEM teacher (K-12 & Community College) that wants first hand experience in a scientific laboratory doing research?
The Research in Optics for K-14 Educators & Teachers (ROKET) Research Experience for Teachers (RET) program is the perfect opportunity! This National Science Foundation funded program will host teachers of predominantly Native American students (or who are Native American themselves) to do research with top professors and graduate students on the University of Arizona campus for 6-weeks.
Housing and travel are provided as well as a $5,400 stipend and at the close of the program the teachers will receive a $1,500 budget to spend on classroom supplies for their own students. Teachers will also gain 3 hours of graduate credit for their participation in the American Indian Language Development Institute (AILDI) class.
